We all like to go to our
local car wash to get our
car washed but high pressure
jet washers to wash a
vehicle should be 1000 psi or lower with a 40
degree nozzle which has a
wider spray pattern & not a
laser like focused
pattern. But most
car wash places are now
using well over 2000 psi
which can strip off paint,
break trims & even move the
headlight out of place.
A
high pressure jet wash of
2000 psi & above is normally
used on concrete &
Skippy recommends that
headlights should never be
high pressure washed at a
close range
we have also witnessed some
car washing done with a 3000
psi machine to wash cars, it
only takes 2500 psi to punch
through human skin & can lead to
water droplets on the inside
of the lens. The best psi to wash vehicles
should be between 600 psi to
1000 psi.
